Place 2 B & B Seen: Pocna, on the Hip Side of the Beach Road

By: T.E.M Resident Writer

What makes Pocna different than all the other beach clubs in Tulum? It has some of the best people watching around. That and they make a pretty damn good cocktail.

Looking for a cool spot on the beach in Tulum isn’t always the easiest thing to do. Whether it's blaring hot, or the crowd isn’t your scene (perhaps both of those things weigh into that beach day struggle): where are you going to go to enjoy great cocktails and ‘see & be seen’?

Poc Na. It’s almost like an institution on the public side of things in Tulum. But word of the wise, get there early so you can get a good seat. The beach club fills up pretty quickly, as does the public area in front of Poc Na. People watching is pretty damn good, and whatever your eye candy is, you are sure to get your eye views worth. And the scene? It’s as good as it gets.

It's beer o'clock

Music blasts from the speakers, as the waiters scurry along getting everyone drinks and grub. The drinks are stellar, and they are priced ‘Tulum Beach Norm’. We tend to stick with the beers, The grub we didn’t try this time, since they were in a ‘transitional stage’ of recreating the menu. That said, you can always get some grub from ‘Kogure’, the japanese spot at Poc Na, with Yusuke Kogure (aka Crazy Chef), as the mastermind culinary genius behind Kogure’s Menu.

Tulum Eats Magazine is published 12 times a year, unless we decide to go on prolonged vacations. You can find the print magazine at select locations throughout the Riviera Maya, and in some East Coast establishments, where we will randomly place, during selective times. The website will be updated monthly, with selected materials that may or may not be the same as the print version. Look for us soon, in other states of Mexico.
